Candida Cleanse: Week 3 Results - Increased Urine pH

Our entire community followed an effective, natural, relatively fast protocol for clearing candida overgrowth using 100% Gum Spirits of Turpentine. We share our results in a multi-part series.

Each day we learn, grow, and progress a bit more as we follow a candida cleanse by Dr. Jennifer Daniels.

The experience has been very interesting and productive for our group here at The Garden of Eden, and the changes just keep coming!

Each person began this journey at a different level of physical and mental health, and each person's experience has been a little different based on this and other factors, but we are seeing some general trends after following for several weeks. For example, every single person feels better now than they did before the cleanse!

Another commonality is that we have seen an increase in our urine pH.

We began measuring the pH of our urine in the morning and night on the second day of our protocol. These are results from the first day of measurement:

We ranged from 5.3 to 6.7, which is on the acidic side of a neutral 7.0.

The low-ish pHs surprised many of us, especially those with very healthy diets. It has been a wonderful learning experience about how our bodies work and allows us to take a serious look at our diet and how it has a direct impact on the our pH.

Here is a comparison of our results from week 1 to week 3:

We are seeing a general progression of our pH levels from the 5s towards the low 7s range over the course of the last three weeks. Our most frequent pH measurements are 6.8 - 7.2, which is higher than previous weeks.

The data above raises some questions:

1. If we stayed consistent with the diet all week rather than taking 3 days when we stop taking the 100% gum spirits of turpentine, would our overall pH levels be even higher than they are?

2. What are some other environmental factors that could be influencing our pH levels besides just what we consume as food?

Another data point we thought we be of interest is the difference in pH levels for the days we were ON the diet vs the days we were OFF the diet. Take a look at the total of this data for the last three weeks:

It almost looks like a few people were having a higher pH amount during their OFF cleanse days vs when they were ON the diet/cleanse, which we find surprising. If that is true, then what are people actually eating on their on and off days? We are going to look into this in an upcoming post.

Looking further into why the data surprises us, we found that some participants of our experiment failed to report their pHs in week 3.

Either people were not recording them before submitting their forms, or they forgot what the pH levels were by the time they needed to submit the form, or the forms didn’t come through and had to be resent and by that time they couldn’t remember their pH readings for that day. Whatever the reasoning, there were 11 points of data missing for the ON days vs 15 points of data missing for the OFF days during this 3 week time period.

Since that data doesn't exist and we can't report on it we really can't even speculate on what could be missing. We will continue collecting and analyzing data to observe changes over the next few weeks.

Thank you for following along! We will continue to share more of our experiment as time goes on!

We hope this will inspire you to do additional research and work towards the best possible health for yourself!

Cheers to your health & happiness!
